Suncoast Sea Cadets prepare to finally board their chariot. After a week of training with United States Coast Guard Pilots, Mechanics, Air Survival Technicians, and many others, cadets were rewarded with a 3 hour, 400 mile flight in a
C-130 Hercules.

All cadets are required to attend a 2 week Recruit Training. Here cadets learn discipline, military bearing, close order drill, and much more. After RT cadets will be eligible for to attend all the trainings the NSCC offers.Suncoast Sea Cadets have traveled across the country and even the world to attend trainings.

In 2008, Suncoast Squadron became the only unit in the country who certified all its cadets in SCUBA. Suncoast Sea Cadets were then able to take these skills on a humanitarian mission, diving at the Weeki Wachee springs and river. Suncoast Sea Cadets spent their dive time helping clean up trash that had been effecting the delicate eco-system.

Cadets at Recruit Training meet their staff. For the next 2 weeks these staff will mold and guide them into molde cadets and citizens. All Suncoast Sea Cadets are expected to complete RT within their first year of joining.

Suncoast Sea Cadets received the opportunity to get an inside look at the day to day operations of Clearwater/St Petersburg International airport. Cadets climbed the FAA ground control tower to see the world from the eyes of an Air Traffic Control (ATC). Suncoast Sea Cadets then worked with the Airport Operations Manager and got the rare chance to walk on an active runway, where they decided to get in a little PT.
