Every cadet should be knowledgeable about the following items:

  • Chain of Command

  • Military Customs & Courtesies

  • Wear of the Uniform

  • Military/24-hour time in even and half hours

  • Rank Structure of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps

  • Phonetic alphabet used in the military. Practice spelling your name!

  • Basic facing movements and commands

  • A copy of the 8 week test is attached for your use. This study guide will help you prepare!


Coast Guard Internship 2018

The Coast Guard Internship provides an in-depth look into the daily operations of the Coast Guard.


The event will be held at the Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater. It is a week long program where students will spend each day at the air station and experience basic aviation indoctrination through a curriculum of classroom style presentations, physical training, and hands-on experience in various Coast Guard ratings.

Food is at the Galley and costs $5.00 per person each day.


UOD is NWUs each day. Bring Swim & Land PT Gear every day.

No Overnight Berthing - Class runs from 0800-1430 (approx).

Parents/guardians are responsible for transport to/from the training site.


Bring hygiene supplies for showering after PT. Bring Sunscreen. There will be a fair amount of time spent outdoors. There are 10 male billets and 5 female cadet billets available.

Requirements for Coast Guard Internship

Find GL-FL-1801L on the training site for Coast Guard

  • You must be a Sea Cadet aged 13 or older.

  • Minimum rank is E2-T

  • Must have completed Basic Military Requirements Correspondence Course.

  • Cadets MUST past the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) within the last 6 months in order to sign up for training.

  • ID Cards must be current for the time of the training.

  • Contact your unit and ask them to sign you up for GL-FL-1801L. Ask them to help you complete the required forms. Completed forms must be uploaded to the training.
